WHAT: Book signing with Curtis Granderson

WHY: To sign copies of his new book All You Can Be: Dream It, Draw It, Become It!

Fans will have a chance to meet Detroit Tigers center fielder and All-Star Curtis Granderson at two area book signings he will conduct in the area. The first will be at Borders in Birmingham on Monday, 8/17 and the second at Meijer in Royal Oak on Thursday, 8/27. Granderson will be signing copies of his brand-new book: All You Can Be that is illustrated by fourth-graders across the state of Michigan.

About the book:
Granderson challenged fourth-graders across Michigan to illustrate the theme to his book by answering the following question: how do you see yourself when you are in high school and how is education important in helping you become that person?

Triumph Books received hundreds of submissions, and each was reviewed by editors, retired teachers and Curtis himself. In the end, 29 submissions clearly embodied the spirit Curtis was trying to relate - learning can be fun - and were chosen for inclusion in the book.
